A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support a high-profile, transport-led contract operating within a rail environment.

The Role

  • Lead health & safety strategy across a major rail-associated contract
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standards
  • Act as the subject matter expert for safety within a live operational rail environment
  • Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments across multiple sites
  • Support operational teams in safe delivery of services within regulated environments
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Engage with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with safety expectations and standards
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks and ongoing safety briefings
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and reporting

About You

  • Proven experience in a Safety Manager or senior HSEQ role within facilities management, cleaning or soft services
  • Essential exposure to rail environments or contracts interfacing with rail (e.g. stations, depots, transport hubs)
  • Strong understanding of rail safety culture, processes and terminology
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 systems and compliance
  • NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
  • Confident communicator, able to influence operational teams and senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-focused
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites in a fast-paced, operational setting

Experience & Skills

  • Experience managing safety within high-footfall, public-facing environments
  • Strong audit, reporting and compliance management capability
  • Ability to build relationships with both internal teams and external clients
  • Experience driving behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives

This is an excellent opportunity to join a complex, high-profile contract where safety is critical to operational success. The role offers real influence, autonomy and the chance to shape safety standards within a demanding and visible environment.
