PFI Account Director


  • Location: Worcestershire
  • Salary: £95,000 + £6,100 car allowance

We are seeking an experienced Account Director to lead a high-profile PFI facilities management contract in Worcestershire. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the strategic and operational performance of a multi-site portfolio across hard and soft FM services.

You will hold full accountability for P&L performance, compliance, and service delivery, ensuring contract obligations are met while driving value, innovation, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong commercial acumen, proven PFI experience, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders across both client and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the PFI account, ensuring high performance in all areas of Hard and Soft FM.
  • Build and maintain senior client relationships to ensure long-term partnership success and satisfaction.
  • Deliver all contractual and financial targets, including P&L accountability, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Champion Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards across all sites.
  • Provide effective leadership and development of the operational team, creating a culture of ownership, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and contract performance.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of contract terms, service level agreements, and compliance obligations, especially around lifecycle and asset management.

Candidate Profile


  • Proven experience in a senior FM leadership role, ideally as Account Director or Senior Operations Manager on a PFI contract (essential).
  • Strong understanding of PFI performance mechanisms, KPIs, lifecycle, and payment deductions.
  • Commercially astute with demonstrable experience managing large-scale budgets and P&L.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of building services (M&E), compliance, and contract law.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Healthcare FM experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications


  • Relevant facilities management or engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND, IOSH/NEBOSH, IWFM, or similar).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in FM, leadership, or commercial management.
