Role: BIM Coordinator (Business Information Modelling)

I have an excellent opportunity for a BIM Coordinator to join an award winning property and construction consultancy based close to London Bridge. My client is a well respected multi-disciplinary consultancy who are based throughout the UK, they work within the retail, residential, education, commercial, office and industrial sectors with some of the largest businesses in the UK.

They are currently looking for a BIM Coordinator to join the newly developed BIM division, the ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 years experience carrying out a BIM position for a contractor or consultancy within the construction, property or engineering markets. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and client-facing skills, whilst being a part of a growing and highly successful business during an exciting growth phase.

Responsibilities:


  • Have responsibility for day to day project BIM co-ordination, information  actions and prepare project BIM execution plans
  • Working closely with various team members to ensure successful Revit training internally takes place, COBie development and the sharing of Information Models and Asset Information Models 
  • Assist in project BIM co-ordination meetings, this may include such activities as 'live' walkthroughs, clash detection, solution focused, co-ordination issues
  • Develop and integrate 3D, 4D, 5D & 6D principals and apply to software packages (e.g. Revit, CostX, and Navisworks etc.)
  • Validate model compliance against BEP, RIBA stages and agreed data drops and advise on modelling best practice using interoperability tools
  • Manage and maintain project content and source additional content for project teams where required
  • Actively seek new business development opportunities for the organisation and the team

Person Specification:


  • Degree or Equivalent in Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering
  • A good working knowledge of core BIM Standards and the UK BIM Framework including PAS 1192, BS 1192, ISO 19650, PAS 91
  • Good Knowledge and experience in Autodesk Design Suite and associated technologies, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of using Revit on design/construction projects. Autodesk Navisworks,  2D/3D AutoCAD  
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational skills and be flexible to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of BIM Protocol, its relation to the JCT, RIBA Work stages, specifically the requirements of BIM around Stage 3 onwards and the Handover of BIM to clients
  • Member of CIAT, CIBSE or equivalent (desirable)
