Workshop Technician

My client is looking for a workshop technician to start immediately at their site based in Birmingham. You will be responsible for the cleaning, verification & repair of a range of homecare equipment, including Oxygen concentrators & Oxygen conservers.
Stringent quality & daily productivity targets and will be monitored closely against these.
Working towards a recognised qualification, you will be expected to complete assessments throughout the apprenticeship program. For the role of the workshop technician you will need to have experience within a similar role.
The main tasks will be:
- Recording serial numbers of equipment received from field engineers & placing the equipment in to the correct 'holding' area.
- PAT testing & Soak testing the equipment.
- Lifting concentrators on to the bench, up to 25 times per day over a 8 hour shift
- Verifying, cleaning & where needed, repairing the equipment
- Recording all work carried out.
- Recording serial numbers ready for dispatch to field technicians.
- Occasional need to off load delivery vehicles on site. Goods receipt medical cylinders and other stock as needed
- Work as part of a team to produce work of a high quality.
- Some driving delivering stores as required

- Completion of necessary documentation and processes to ensure activities are completed in full.
- Adherence to company policies and processes always.
- Contribute to the team performance by sharing and implementing best practise ideas.
- Work with line manager to agree personal performance targets to assist personal, team and company growth. Track personal performance against targets and provide updates as required.
- Increase customer satisfaction by providing professional, knowledgeable and high levels of quality service including internal liaison with other functions within the company.
- Through self-learning and formal training, develop relevant knowledge, techniques & skills for the role.
- Ensure a safety culture and effective housekeeping.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role
- Qualified to carry out PAT testing and Soak testing equipment
- A technically minded individual
- Full UK driving licence and use of vehicle
- Willing to travel, occasionally spending nights away from home.
- Capable and happy working solo and as part of a team.
- A personable individual with excellent communication skills.
