Mobilisation Director – Facilities Management / Engineering

Location: Nationwide, with regular UK travel
Salary: Circa £100,000 plus benefits
Role type: Full-time, permanent

We are looking for an accomplished Mobilisation Director to lead the successful delivery of major contracts from award through to stable, high-performing operational delivery. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong programme management with genuine customer presence, commercial judgement and the ability to inspire teams.

You will own mobilisation strategy and delivery across a portfolio of new contract wins, ensuring each transition is safe, compliant, well planned and delivered on time. You will act as the senior point of contact for clients during mobilisation, building trusted relationships and giving customers confidence from day one. Effective mobilisation requires coordinated workstreams across operations, HR, procurement, compliance, finance and supply chain, alongside clear governance, risk management and stakeholder communication.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end mobilisation activity across complex, multi-site contracts, from pre-award handover through to business-as-usual transition.
  • Develop and deliver robust mobilisation plans, timetables, governance structures, readiness reviews and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with clients, senior stakeholders, supply partners and internal leadership teams.
  • Lead, coach and develop mobilisation and operational teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and high standards.
  • Ensure statutory, contractual and compliance requirements are met before service commencement.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for customer, operational and implementation issues, resolving challenges quickly and professionally.
  • Report progress, milestones, risks and performance to executive leadership and customers.
  • Support continuous improvement and ensure each mobilisation strengthens the company’s reputation for delivery.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant senior leadership experience in facilities management, workplace services, property services or a related outsourced services environment.
  • A proven record of leading large-scale, complex mobilisations, ideally across multi-site portfolios.
  • Outstanding customer relationship skills, with the credibility to engage confidently at board and client level.
  • Strong people leadership, able to bring together cross-functional teams and deliver through others.
  • Excellent planning, commercial awareness, risk management and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience of compliance and operational readiness would be highly advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
