Day Supervisor Jobs in London – Electrical Bias | Smart Buildings & Critical Facilities We are seeking an experienced Day Supervisor (Electrical Bias) to support the fit-out, commissioning, and mobilisation of a state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a landmark smart building project from the early stages of fit-out through to full operational readiness and long-term building operations. Initially offered on a temporary basis, the role has strong potential to become permanent.

You will play a key role in:
  • Safe electrical isolations and LV switching operations
  • Permit to Work (PTW) management
  • Contractor coordination and supervision
  • Commissioning and mobilisation support

Role Overview As the Day Supervisor – Electrical Bias, you will oversee daily engineering operations, support commissioning and mobilisation activities, and ensure all electrical and building services works are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational standards.
You will work closely with:
  • Contractors and subcontractors
  • Engineering and commissioning teams
  • Permit Managers
  • Operational leadership and stakeholders
This role offers exposure to advanced smart building systems, critical infrastructure, and large-scale corporate fit-out operations within a technically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities Supervisory & Operational Duties
  • Act as Day Supervisor, overseeing engineering operations and contractor activities across site
  • Carry out safe LV electrical isolations and reinstatements to support fit-out and commissioning activities
  • Issue, manage, and close Permits to Work (PTW) in accordance with site procedures and Safe Systems of Work
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, Permit Managers, and stakeholders
  • Support fit-out works including:
    • Electrical isolations
    • Power connections
    • Access coordination
    • Technical supervision
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and compliance standards
Mobilisation & Transition Support
  • Participate in Soft Landings processes, system familiarisation, and training activities
  • Support the development of operational procedures and building readiness plans
  • Witness and support commissioning activities and integrated systems testing
  • Assist with technical handover documentation and mobilisation activities
  • Provide engineering support during transition and low-activity project phases
Operations & Maintenance
  • Utilise CAFM platforms, digital FM systems, and smart building technologies for job management and reporting
  • Raise, monitor, and close maintenance tasks within agreed service levels
  • Maintain permit logs, maintenance records, and compliance documentation
  • Support fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and technical reporting
  • Produce engineering reports and operational documentation for leadership teams
Continuous Improvement & Safety
  • Promote safe systems of work and high engineering standards across all operations
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and energy efficiency gains
  • Support a strong Health & Safety, compliance, and quality culture
  • Contribute to operational excellence and engineering best practice across site
Skills & Experience Required Essential – Technical Experience
  • Proven experience as a Building Services Engineer with an Electrical Bias
  • Experience working within:
    • Corporate headquarters
    • Banking or financial services environments
    • Data centres
    • Critical or high-availability environments
  • Strong practical experience with:
    • Permit to Work (PTW) systems
    • Electrical isolations and LV switching
    • Building services and HVAC systems
  • Experience supporting HV switching operations within 11kV–33kV environments
Qualifications
  • HV switching qualification or demonstrable HV operational experience up to 33kV
  • City & Guilds Electrical qualifications or recognised electrical apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing
  • ACoP L8 Water Hygiene certification
  • IOSH qualification or equivalent
  • Willingness to become site LV Authorised Person (LVAP)
Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of:
  • BMS (Building Management Systems) and smart controls
  • HVAC systems including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, and VAVs
  • LTHW heating systems and boilers
  • Life safety systems including fire alarms and suppression systems
  • LV electrical distribution (400V systems)
  • UPS systems and resilient power architectures
  • STS / ATS systems and standby generators
  • Smart building technologies and IoT-connected systems
  • Energy management and operational optimisation principles
