Overview We are seeking a Data Centre Supervisor to join a growing Critical Facilities / Data Centre Solutions team in London.
This is a key leadership position within a mission-critical environment, combining hands-on Electrical & Mechanical (M&E) expertise with operational leadership and team management. The role is ideal for an experienced Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Supervisor looking to further develop within data centres or critical infrastructure environments.
You will play a vital role in maintaining uptime, resilience, and operational excellence across all site infrastructure within a 24/7 high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities Technical Operations & Maintenance
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain electrical and mechanical (M&E) systems
  • Carry out high-voltage (HV) switching, isolations, and safe systems of work
  • Supervise Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
  • Coordinate fault finding, repairs, and corrective works with engineers and subcontractors
  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) processes and technical compliance standards
  • Ensure all critical infrastructure operates safely and efficiently
Compliance, Documentation & Change Management
  • Prepare, review, and implement:
    • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
    • MOPs (Method of Procedure)
    • EOPs (Emergency Operating Procedures)
    • Permits to Work (PTW)
    • Risk Assessments and Change Control documentation
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with RAMS, site procedures, and safety standards
  • Review and sign off contractor works, escalating risks or issues where required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical reports, and asset registers
  • Manage critical spares, stock levels, and inventory control
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead the day-to-day performance of engineering teams across shift and day operations
  • Coordinate staffing, holiday planning, sickness cover, and resource allocation
  • Mentor and develop engineers, technicians, and apprentices
  • Deliver toolbox talks, team briefings, and performance oversight
  • Promote a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE)
  • Champion Health & Safety and QHSE standards across all site operations
  • Lead hazard reporting, near-miss investigations, and safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and safe systems of work
  • Drive a zero-incident, safety-first culture within a critical environment
  • Lead by example in maintaining operational discipline and engineering best practice
Skills & Experience Essential
  • Proven experience within a data centre, mission-critical, or facilities management supervisory role
  • HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Electrical systems (LV/HV)
    • Mechanical systems and HVAC infrastructure
    • Critical environments and high-availability operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using CAFM / CMMS systems and documentation control processes
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure within a live 24/7 operational environment
Desirable
  • Previous experience within data centres or critical facilities environments
  • HV Authorised Person (AP) status, or working towards certification
  • Experience managing contractors and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and change management processes
