Day Supervisor – Electrical Bias (Building Services / Smart Building Fit-Out)
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Day Supervisor (Electrical Bias) to support the fit-out, commissioning, and mobilisation of a new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in London.
This is initially a temporary position with strong potential to become permanent, offering a unique opportunity to be involved from early-stage fit-out through to full operational readiness and steady-state building operations.
You will play a key role in managing safe electrical isolations, LV switching activities, and Permit to Work (PTW) systems, while supporting contractors and engineering teams within a highly advanced smart building environment.

Key Responsibilities Supervisory & Operational Duties

Key Responsibilities Supervisory & Operational Duties
- Act as Day Supervisor, overseeing daily engineering operations and contractor activities
- Carry out safe LV electrical isolations and reinstatements to support fit-out and commissioning works
- Issue, manage, and close Permits to Work (PTW) in accordance with site procedures
- Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, Permit Managers, and key stakeholders
- Support fit-out activities including isolations, power connections, access coordination, and technical supervision
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational standards
- Participate in Soft Landings processes, training programmes, and system familiarisation activities
- Support development of operational procedures and building readiness plans
- Witness and support commissioning and integrated systems testing
- Assist with technical handover documentation and operational transition activities
- Provide engineering support during low-activity project and mobilisation phases
- Utilise digital FM systems, CAFM platforms, and smart building technologies for job management and reporting
- Raise, monitor, and close maintenance tasks accurately within agreed service levels
- Maintain permit logs, maintenance records, and compliance documentation
- Support fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and technical reporting
- Produce engineering documentation for leadership and operational teams
- Promote safe systems of work and high engineering standards across site operations
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency gains
- Support a strong Health & Safety, compliance, and quality culture
- Contribute to overall team performance and operational excellence
- Proven experience as a Building Services Engineer with an Electrical Bias
- Experience working within critical environments such as corporate headquarters, banking environments, or data centres
- Strong experience with:
- Permit to Work (PTW) systems
- Electrical isolations and LV switching
- Building services and HVAC systems
- Experience supporting HV switching operations within 11kV–33kV environments
- HV switching qualification or demonstrable HV operational experience up to 33kV
- City & Guilds Electrical qualifications or recognised electrical apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing
- ACoP L8 Water Hygiene certification
- IOSH qualification or equivalent
- Willingness to become site LV Authorised Person (LVAP)
- BMS (Building Management Systems) and smart controls
- HVAC systems including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, and VAVs
- LTHW heating systems and boilers
- Life safety systems including fire alarms and suppression systems
- LV electrical distribution (400V systems)
- UPS systems and 2N power architectures
- STS / ATS systems and standby generators
- Smart building technologies, IoT platforms, and integrated digital systems
- Energy management and optimisation principles
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Calm and effective under pressure
- Professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive with a solutions-focused mindset
- Comfortable working independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible regarding working patterns, including occasional weekend support
- Leads by example and maintains high professional standards
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and engineering quality
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills
- Confident user of digital FM and CAFM systems
- Proven capability within critical environments and HV operations
