Chief Engineer – Amsterdam (On-Site) | €4,000 pm
I am working with a prominent hotel in Amsterdam seeking a Chief Engineer to take full ownership of the technical service department. This is a high-impact role responsible for maintaining the operational state of the entire facility and building. You will act as the lead advisor to the General Manager on technical matters, managing a team of 2–6 members and overseeing large-scale projects such as renovations and equipment replacements.

Your Experience:
- Language Skills: Fluent Dutch is essential (written and spoken) for managing local certificates, municipal authorities, and Dutch-speaking external firms.
- Proven Experience: Minimum 5 years in a technical role with at least 3 years in a leadership/management position.
- Education: A completed HBO (Higher Professional Education) degree.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of electricity, gas, water, and structural engineering.
- Safety & Compliance: Expertise in hospitality safety aspects, environmental reporting, and managing legal permits/certificates.
- Operational Management: Experience in work scheduling, performance reviews, and quality control of technical execution.
- Vendor Management: Skilled in evaluating third-party quotes and managing external contractors (HVAC, elevators, cooling, etc.).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience monitoring energy-saving measures and maintaining energy/environmental reports.
- Experience with local inspection marks (e.g., elevator and fire safety equipment certification).
