Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Air Conditioning Foot Mobile Supervisor to lead and support a team of engineers across multiple commercial office sites in Central London.
This is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of critical building services through the effective delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and breakdown support across a diverse range of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise across chillers, CRAC units, VRV/VRF systems, split systems, FCUs, and AHUs, with the ability to diagnose faults using BMS graphics and alarm systems. The role plays a key part in maintaining plant reliability, client satisfaction, and full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational
Lead, supervise, and support a mobile team of Air Conditioning engineers across multiple sites
Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance within agreed service level timeframes
Respond promptly and professionally to breakdowns and reactive callouts
Undertake detailed fault diagnosis and implement effective remedial solutions
Maintain accurate site logbooks, service records, and F-Gas documentation
Ensure all tools, testing equipment, and specialist meters are calibrated, certified, and properly recorded
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
Conduct dynamic risk assessments and enforce safe systems of work
Review and adhere to Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to works
Submit accurate service reports, including near-miss reports and risk assessments
Assist management in preparing quotations by assessing scope, labour requirements, and materials
Team Leadership & Client Engagement
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, occupiers, and subcontractors
Support engineers in achieving KPIs and SLAs across the contract portfolio
Promote a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and service excellence
Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota where required
Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to team members
Qualifications & Training
Essential
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Level 3 preferred)
City & Guilds 2079 Category 1 (F-Gas)
Good standard of general education, including strong English and Maths skills
Desirable
Formal Electrical or Mechanical training
Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Experience & Technical Skills
Proven hands-on experience maintaining and fault-finding across AC systems including chillers, CRAC units, DX systems, splits, VRV/VRFs, FCUs, and AHUs
Experience within commercial, corporate, or critical environments (e.g., data centres)
Solid understanding of Health & Safety best practice and compliance standards
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and BMS interfaces
Demonstrated capability to lead, motivate, and manage a mobile engineering team
Personal Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, professional, and decisive under pressure
Strong customer focus with a proactive service mindset
Physically fit and capable of manual handling (up to 20kg)
Comfortable working at height and using vertical access equipment
