Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the smooth operation of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services across multiple buildings on a large estate. As a key member of the Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works, while also supporting the technical coordination of M&E project activities where required.

You will be accountable for completing tasks in line with contract requirements, meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Operational Support
  • Provide engineering support across multiple sites within the region.
  • Support FM teams with technical expertise and fault resolution.
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in the engineering call-out rota.
  • Complete PPMs, reactive maintenance, and self-delivered tasks within agreed timescales.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all works comply with Safe Systems of Work.
  • Supervise contractors, ensuring health and safety inductions and compliance are met.
  • Act as a Safety Champion, proactively raising and addressing health and safety concerns on a weekly basis.
Systems & Maintenance Management
  • Coordinate system shutdowns when required.
  • Ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Manage site documentation to meet all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels of consumables and critical electrical spares.
Resource & Job Management
  • Proactively manage time to support PPM and reactive maintenance across multiple buildings.
  • Raise material requests, obtain quotations, and complete material request documentation.
  • Manage jobs through the CAFM system and ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets.
Personal Development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK electrical standards and regulations.
  • Develop and retain a broad understanding of M&E systems across all sites.
  • Review O&M manuals for new electrical systems and advise on PPM adjustments where necessary.
  • Participate in relevant training, including Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP) duties and company procedures.
Relationships & Collaboration
  • Act as a proactive and supportive member of the Maintenance Team.
  • Work closely with supervisors and management to deliver service excellence.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to obtain specifications, repair quotations, and material pricing.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2–3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • Working knowledge of SFG20 Maintenance Specification.
  • Relevant building maintenance training (e.g. First Aid, MEWP, PASMA, Water Treatment, LMS, BMS).
  • Health & Safety training.
  • Membership of a professional engineering body (desirable).
Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems within a building maintenance environment.
  • Proven experience working within a multi-disciplinary technical team in complex facilities.
  • Familiarity with Asset Management systems, CAFM platforms, and PDA usage.
