Job Title: Senior Engineer

Sector: Luxury Residential Property

Location: London

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE

I am delighted to be working with a market leader in the world of luxury residences. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Engineer and play a vital role in ensuring residents enjoy a seamless living experience. This newly created position is designed to enhance service quality and operational excellence across the residences.

About the Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for residents experiencing technical issues within their apartments. You will investigate and resolve faults, perform hands-on repairs where possible, and coordinate external specialists when required. Working across MEP systems and the Building Management System, you’ll help maintain the smooth operation of all building services, from HVAC and plumbing to fire protection and electrical systems. This is a very forward-facing role and you will need to be a clear communicator with high levels of empathy and a sense of urgency.

You will also need to be flexible – the properties are 24/7 and we need to know we can rely on you if an emergency situation occurs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident queries and maintenance issues.
  • Deliver high-quality service, repairs, and maintenance across apartments, plant rooms, and shared areas.
  • Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Provide basic technical support for home automation systems (such as Crestron and Lutron).
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, maintain documentation, and ensure standards are met consistently.
  • Maintain stock levels, contribute to operational records, and escalate unresolved issues before the end of each shift.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance - Conduct regular building patrols to identify and resolve potential issues.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal policies.
  • Follow fire and emergency procedures and attend all relevant training.
  • Keep engineering areas safe, clean, and well-organized.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, formal apprenticeship, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building engineering or maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and BMS operation.
  • Experience with Crestron and/or Lutron systems.
  • Current understanding of fire safety and UK Health & Safety standards.
