The Role: Building Services Manager
Interim role – Minimum 3 month FTC – START ASAP
Salary: £50K
Location: Central London – SW1

Our client is looking for an Interim Building Services manager for a 3 month FTC. The venue is a London landmark that is home to a variety of large-scale events and conferences throughout the year.

About the role:

You will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of both hard and soft services, utilities, security and health & safety at the Centre. As a departmental budget holder, you will work with the Venue Operations Director and apply best practice to deliver the Centre’s maintenance programme. You will be accountable for the budget, presenting reports on variances and savings. You will represent the Centre’s ethos and ethics by ensuring that all internal and external Clients receive outstanding and award-winning service.

Key Tasks

  • Be the main lead on day-to-day FM operations and all matters pertaining to the operation of the centre.
  • Managing the Centre Health & Safety Policy and procedures.
  • Project management of capital refurbishment projects and all small works.
  • Primary liaison with our procured service partners (hard and soft services) to ensure that fixed contracted services are being delivered to the agreed standard/SLA.
  • Management of fixed assets, ensuring the Venue Director is informed of matters relating to the life cycle of our legacy plant and machinery.
  • To conduct and document daily building inspections relating to fabric, M&E, cleaning, and security.
  • To work with the Operations Director on sustainability planning and environmental matters.
  • Review and maintain the Centre’s Business Continuity plan arrangements ensuring they are fit for purpose and regularly tested.
  • Health and Safety & Security – Managing service provider relationships and overseeing internal compliance on all matters.

Essential Experience

  • Building management experience.
  • Managing FM contractors, both hard and soft FM
  • Leadership skills, a proven team leader and relationship builder
  • Skill and aptitude to see the big picture, but with an eye for detail, service focused to provide the highest level of service standards
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Good written communication skills
  • Project Management experience
