Job title: Mechanical Engineer
Salary: Permanent - £40,000-£45,000
Location: London
We have a very exciting role for a Mechanical Engineer to be working at a public sector in London. This Mechanical Engineer role offers great progression, you will be working within a great team and have brilliant resources. This Mechanical Engineer position will also give you the opportunity to develop qualifications and increase growth with this progressive company.
Purpose of the Mechanical Engineer role:
- Deliver PPM relating primarily to Mechanical Equipment in-line with agreed programmes / SLAs in order to meet Client and Statutory Compliance.
- Complete Reactive Works identified through PPM work undertaken when requested.
- Provide Service Support as part of a team providing quality service delivery, with a requirement to be part of the out of hour’s emergency call out team.
Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer:
- Adhere to method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
- Complete PPM tasks and reactive works timely to meet KPIs.
- Proactively maintain high-standard premises.
- Foster strong client relationships through good service.
- Keep site documentation updated for audits.
- Comply with and escalate statutory requirements.
- Collaborate within the team to fulfil contract obligations.
- Supervise subcontractors, issue PTWs, handle isolations as needed.
- Train and correctly use NG Bailey systems.
- Complete necessary safety documentation like POWRA.
- Liaise directly with the onsite FM Team and other service partners so that collaborative working relationships are formed.
- Demonstrate appropriate Health & Safety knowledge to ensure safe delivery of all work.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL:
- Practical experience carrying out PPM's and undertaking routine Mechanical Repairs and Maintenance with basic fault-finding diagnostic experience.
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in a Mechanical discipline OR equivalent formal Mechanical qualification.
- Capable of working independently.
- Excellent customer service skills – very client facing.
- Safe system of Work Procedure – PTW; RAMS, LOTO etc.
DESIRABLE:
- HVAC experience/Qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
