      Health and Safety Supervisor

  • £35,000 - £40,000 p/a
  • 6 Months Contract
  • Swindon

We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Supervisor for a 6 month fixed term contract in Swindon. The role is working on a TFM Maintenance Contract and is temporary to help bring around a cultural change, re-enforcing best practice and adherence to health and safety regulations which are already in place. The role of the Health and Safety Supervisor will be to drive compliance with the regulations by completing site audits and working closely with team members to drive improvement through their KPI's.

Duties of the role include:


  • Working with the existing robust Health and Safety legislation and procedures that are already in place.
  • Completing site audits to observe where Health and Safety are not being met.
  • Working with individuals and managers in the contract to improve on Health and Safety performance, putting into place practical plans to increase adherence to legislation.
  • Promoting a culture of accountability where Health and Safety is at the forefront of everyone's actions.
  • Advise and support staff, providing training as needed to facilitate their knowledge and success with their Health and Safety obligations.
  • Assist in the Health and Safety operational strategies including policy reviews.
  • Facilitate local Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Working with the Head of FM to report on improvements and escalate any issues as required.
  • Prepare contractual reports concerning to Health and Safety.
  • Review risk and COSHH assessments with the line managers
  • Reviews accidents and near misses, including RIDDORS and investigations.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:


  • Experience of managing Health and Safety within a FM environment across both hard and soft services.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH highly desirable.
  • Full UK driver's licence to be able to travel between the 8 sites of the contract (all in Swindon).
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively and make decisions based upon priority and level of risk - either to business or individual.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on their own.
  • Good presentation and training skills.
  • Motivating and able to work well with others to create positive change.
