Build Recruitment are working with an Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) client to make the key appointment of Personal Valet and Wardrobe Manager: Greater London £65k + benefits.
We seek a discreet Personal Valet who will always maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. You must be flexible with a "can do" attitude and a great sense of style, be happy to travel extensively and be willing to work as part of a dedicated, loyal team, so that the client may enjoy their clothing and accessories more curably from each residence.
The Personal Valet must develop a good knowledge of the various properties the principal and family travels to. In addition, the Personal Valet should possess a thorough understanding of front-of-house guest services, as there will be occasional backup support in butler duties, mainly when supporting family events and VVIP guests at other family residences.
Duties include:
- Managing the principal's and immediate family members' wardrobes to an exceptionally high standard of detail, including laundering, dry cleaning, and overseeing alterations.
- Store, organize, and maintain clothing, create, and continually update a detailed inventory of the principal's wardrobe at the primary residence and place of work, including footwear, accessories, and other personal belongings. The Personal Valet must assist with the principal's daily dressing routines and sourcing the appropriate attire that aligns with the schedule and high-profile events.
- The Personal Valet will be required to coordinate the personal shopper and purchases, individual shopping, bespoke tailor fittings, seasonal bespoke wardrobe selection with high-end designers, itineraries, errands and gift purchases, health and well-being appointments, personal trainer, and sports participation schedules.
- Create suitable outfits or suggestions for the day or next day or evening's functions and events, which range from work to charitable or social, create and maintain a virtual 'look' book, keeping a record of which outfits are worn to which events.
- Maintaining an up-to-date wardrobe garment inventory and conducting rotations for the principal and immediate family members when necessary.
- To Transform and de-clutter disorganized spaces into a haven of calm and order so the principal can enjoy his clothing and accessories more curably from each residence.
- Establish how each family member would like their items arranged expertly; sort individual items by garment, style, and colour so the client can easily combine and create outfits with minimal fuss, especially at short notice.
- Knowledge of jewellery, watches and competency in its proper care and handling, insurance, and storage.
- Maintaining a client's footwear (polishing, cleaning, managing repair). Accompanying the client on trips and packing and unpacking all wardrobe-related items.
- Organizing and correctly storing clothes during the off-season and safeguarding and prolonging the life of clothing against colour-fading, insects, mould, or bacterial contamination.
- Repairing and altering clothing if capable and cleaning equipment and managing repairs when needed within the laundry room or specialist tailors.
- Preparation and overseeing all medication, liaising directly with the Family Private PA or Female Principal concerning medical instructions.
- Travel will be a big part of this role as the principal travels numerous times a year via private jet charter, ensuring that the Chairman's inflight travel requirements are fully met. The Private Valet will be expected to accompany the Chairman on each trip.
- The Private Valet must prepare appropriate attire and unpack on arrival, ensuring all personal requests are met before the principal arrives at the destination and coordinating with the family private PA on vaccinations, interior expectations, and itineraries.
The successful candidate will have relevant Personal Valet experience, supporting a UHNW and high-profile family and extended family. You will ideally have a gentle sense of humour, the ability to look ahead and be a skilled influencer.
It is essential that you are free and prepared to travel overseas at short notice.
