Build Recruitment are working with a London based NHS Trust to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 6 month contract £30 - £40 per hour umbrella PAYE.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the effective delivery of systems for the management of the Estates under the remit of the Estates Operations Department delivering Building & Engineering services (including building, electrical & mechanical), ensuring that all works are carried out to the relevant standards, both NHS and national.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide technical advice and support on all aspects of the Estates Department service, to the Trust and any third-party stakeholders. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also provide technical information to specialist contractors as well as providing specialist advice to non-specialist Trust staff.~
Working collaboratively with other departments, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide technical advice and support on all mechanical services to Estates Manager, Projects Department, and third-party service providers as well as being responsible for the preparation of tenders for mechanical works and any mechanical works within projects undertaken by the Trust project's team, list of tenderers and other documentation for market-testing.
Areas of Responsibility will include but not limited to:
- The operation of site Medical Gas System as an AP, including preparation and issue of Permit to Work system, witnessing system testing by contractors, system testing with Suitably Qualified Person.
- Devising, preparing, and delivering training for main boiler house, issuing of certificates of competency.
- Maintenance of air conditioning systems through outside contract and in-house PPM system
About you:
It is expected that applicants will have:
- HNC/HND (or relevant experience) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (Mechanical bias).
- Detailed Knowledge of Statutory and Mandatory compliance standards
- Working knowledge of maintenance support systems e.g., CAFM, BMS
- Qualifications as 'Authorised/Responsible Person' or working towards
- Detailed knowledge of NHS standards e.g., HTM/HBN
