Maintenance Mechanical Technician
East London
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000
We are currently recruiting for a close client who have asked us to source an experienced Maintenance Mechanical Technician to take on a fantastic opportunity on a six-month contract. The client have specified that the successful candidate for this Maintenance Mechanical Technician role will be required to work 8:30 - 4:30 Monday to Friday.

JOB SUMMARY:
- Contribute to the maintenance of the fabric of Trust property Line manage more junior member(s) of staff
Carry out equipment maintenance & installations
Repair a variety of equipment
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance according to requirements and needs of the Department.
Assist mechanical engineers as and when necessary.
Basic Responsibilities
- Plan and prioritise own work on a daily basis, must be capable of prioritising own tasks, must be able to adopt a flexible approach and change the plan of work to respond to the clinical environment, urgent and emergency calls.
- Must be able to use of a wide range of tools, machinery and equipment, some of which are specific to the plumbing trade, requiring hand-to-eye coordination to finite tolerances.
- Must be able to use PC to basic skills level as may be required to raise requisitions on the Trust iProc procurement system and complete other admin based tasks
- There will be incidental contact with patients during visits to wards and departments therefore must ensure: minimal disruption to patient care. When planning activity in wards and departments must be aware of staff and patient's environment and demonstrate awareness of the staff and patients' environment e.g. if the work creates noise, dust or dirt.
- Respect Patient's dignity and privacy, ensuring that the highest level of care and comfort is never compromised. Ensure areas screened-off as required. Give information and advice to clinical staff in relation to planned activity.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments are carried out and recognise when to involve line manager if requested works could compromise patient care or privacy and dignity
- Maybe required to take part in on call rota
- Performs work including activities which are often complex and/or non-routine. Providing technical assistance for lower grade staff and contractors ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures for all building services engineering installations.
The suitable candidate must also possess a minimum qualification Level 3 City and Guilds or approved equivalent training.
