The Role: Energy and Sustainability Manager

Location: London – with European Travel

Salary: £100,000 + (Neg)

Sector: Facilities Services

My client is a global provider of Facilities Services to global blue-chip clients. Their approach is that of true partnership and best in class delivery.

A unique opportunity has arisen to join them as Energy and Sustainability Manager on one of their key Financial Services client accounts on a 12 month FTC basis.

Applications are also open to candidates based in Sweden or Denmark.

Job description

As Energy and Sustainability Manager for this financial services client, you will own and develop the energy and sustainability strategy for the account and ensure the strategy reaches site level operational teams. In this role, you will deliver on the account energy and sustainability strategy using global best practice and adapting for account specific needs as well as local country specific needs. You will develop and champion the Sustainability Working Group for the site(s) and ensure all service lines are represented, from catering to M&E.

Key Responsibilities


  • Identify when consumption is exceeding defined targets and come up with ways of reducing in future.
  • Ensure compliance of energy consumption and sustainability performance with contract service-level agreement and according to regulations
  • Continuously develop sustainability reporting with the client, through setting up the right reporting processes
  • Aligned with the operations to illustrate the data findings and support operations in developing actions to improve the sustainability agenda - examples: improve water reporting, waste reporting, food sourcing reporting etc.
  • Drive planning and execution of agreed energy and sustainability initiatives, events, and ongoing communication in accordance with annual plans and contract deliverables
  • Develop sustainability business cases which showcase the sustainability win compared to the financial cost.
  • Identify areas for optimising energy and sustainability services at account and communicate to relevant stakeholders.

This role will require a degree of travel and you will be working within a global matrix organisation, so a high degree of flexibility will be required.
