Wakefield Grammar School Foundation is one of the country’s leading families of single-sex independent day schools, comprising Wakefield Grammar Pre-Preparatory School (boys and girls 3 – 7), Wakefield Girls’ High School (girls 7 – 18) and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (boys 7 – 18). The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring facility management demonstrates best practice, value for money and is fully compliant in line with policy, legislation and regulatory requirements.  Reporting to the Estates Manager the successful candidate will be fundamental to ensuring the smooth running of the estate.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience leading and managing both in house staff and contractors in a front facing customer environment.  They will have the proven capacity to problem solve, manage multiple projects and work independently whilst supporting the overall goals of the department.  A track record of management within FM, building maintenance or related area is essential, as is a recognised health and safety qualification e.g IOSH/NEBOSH. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to formulate operational ideas and solutions and communicate them effectively to non-experts, and will be calm, professional, and a nurturing team manager.
