An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for a healthcare organisation as an Estates Officer - Maintenance Electrician.

This is an interim post for 3 months based in London, working on a band 5. The hourly rate will be £25.39.

Responsible for testing and fault-finding on engineering plant and equipment, Electrical distribution, power and lighting, standby generator plant, catering equipment, electrical lifting aids and beds and nurse call systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the organisation as directed by manager, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures;
  • Prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment;
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance inspections and testing in accordance with Trust maintenance schemes and procedures;
  • Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities under the instruction of the Maintenance Officer;
  • Liaise with Maintenance Officer regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary;
  • At all times to carry the organisation’s communication devices (Pagers and/or Two-way radios) to facilitate immediate response.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Educated to Degree level in relevant Electrical Engineering or Building Services equivalent experience;
  • Professional knowledge acquired through estate services management;
  • IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification;
  • Management of H&S/Risk;
  • Experience managing across electrical services;
  • Proven knowledge of Maintenance Services related compliance management;
  • Good communicator, import and receive clearly and concisely;
  • Ability to remain professionally sound under pressure.
