Near Andover | Hybrid - approximately three days per week on site

I am recruiting for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join an established asset management team supporting a large, complex estate.

Combining commercial oversight with lifecycle planning, this role offers the opportunity to shape long-term investment in buildings and infrastructure. Working closely with asset management and FM colleagues, you will help ensure maintenance and replacement programmes are accurately costed, deliver value for money and meet contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and refine lifecycle budgets, using asset information, market rates and benchmarking to improve the accuracy of long-term forecasts.
  • Assess tenders and proposed works, challenging costs and reviewing scope with the FM delivery partner.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of legislative changes and prepare supporting claims for additional expenditure.
  • Support maintenance and replacement strategies that balance asset condition, operational needs and future handback obligations.
  • Review lifecycle risks, inflation assumptions and emerging cost pressures.
  • Coordinate specialist consultants where additional technical or commercial advice is required.
  • Present financial analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders, supporting reporting and annual audits.

About you

  • MRICS Chartered Surveyor with a degree in surveying, engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Facilities management experience is essential, with a strong understanding of building maintenance and lifecycle expenditure.
  • Experience managing budgets across multiple projects, including client-side oversight at programme level.
  • A quantity surveying background covering cost breakdowns, bills of quantities, tender analysis and procurement.
  • Familiarity with RICS New Rules of Measurement and confidence interpreting complex cost information.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to challenge commercial assumptions constructively.
  • PFI experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with public sector clients would be advantageous.
  • Full driving licence and the ability to achieve SC security clearance within three months.
