Location: Southampton Base – With National Travel
Sector: Facilities Services
Salary: £60,000
An established, fast-growing provider of commercial equipment and services is looking for a Project Manager to lead customer onboarding and implementation projects across the UK.
The organisation supports customers across sectors including retail, healthcare, warehousing, manufacturing, distribution and education. Its offering includes cutting edge technology and machinery, alongside servicing and wider support. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, the business is continuing to invest in its services and its people.
The role
You’ll manage projects from contract award through to operational handover, ensuring customers are ready to use their equipment and services from day one. You’ll oversee project plans, resources, budgets, risks and stakeholder communication, working closely with customers and internal teams across deployment, service delivery, sales and key accounts.
This is a varied, customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, balancing competing priorities and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Lead customer onboarding and implementation projects from award through to successful handover.
- Agree project scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, coordinating equipment, people and resources to meet agreed timescales.
- Work with deployment teams to coordinate operator training and equipment handover.
- Manage budgets, monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies, escalating where needed.
- Act as the main customer contact throughout each project, providing progress updates and managing expectations.
- Chair project meetings and maintain clear project documentation, reports and status updates.
- Ensure contractual requirements, customer specifications, health and safety standards and site requirements are met.
- Complete project close-out, including customer sign-off, lessons learned and handover to service and account teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery and customer onboarding.
About you
You’ll bring experience managing customer onboarding, mobilisation or implementation projects, ideally in an equipment-based environment. You’ll be confident coordinating stakeholders across different teams and building trusted customer relationships.
You’ll also have:
- Strong project planning, scheduling and organisational skills. Prince 2 would be great.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with business priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting abilities.
- The ability to manage several projects and changing priorities at once.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive, self-motivated and detail-focused approach.
Experience in industrial cleaning equipment, facilities management or engineering services would be an advantage.
