The Role As an AC / Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.
You will gain hands-on experience with:
- Split systems, VRV/VRF systems, FCUs, AHUs
- Commercial refrigeration systems
- HVAC plant and control systems
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and system optimisation
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Operations
- Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance in line with SFG20 standards and SLAs
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Take ownership of jobs from initial call-out through to completion
- Carry out fault diagnosis and system troubleshooting using appropriate tools and methods
- Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation
- Maintain F-Gas records, logbooks, and compliance documentation
- Update job progress via CAFM systems or mobile working platforms
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety (HSEQ) and industry regulations
- Build strong relationships with clients and site stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams and management
- Deliver a consistently professional and customer-focused service
- Manage materials and spare parts efficiently
- Identify system faults, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Support overtime and additional works as required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an AC / Refrigeration Engineer
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
- F-Gas Certification (2079 or equivalent)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working in commercial HVAC environments
- Experience with VRV/VRF systems, chillers, and AHUs
- Familiarity with CAFM / mobile job management systems
- Additional HVAC or electrical qualifications
- Strong technical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proactive, reliable, and career-focused mindset
