Role Overview
As a Data Centre / Critical Site Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance across electrical and associated building systems. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring site resilience, uptime, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Technical Delivery
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance in line with schedules
Deliver all engineering tasks to a high technical and professional standard
Support the maintenance of critical infrastructure systems (electrical, power, backup systems)
Supervise subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of works
Provide out-of-hours call-out support on a rota basis
Compliance, Reporting & Documentation
Produce accurate technical reports and maintenance documentation
Ensure all activities meet statutory, contractual, and compliance requirements
Escalate critical incidents or system failures promptly
Assist with technical input for quotations relating to remedial or project works
Participate in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
Communication & Professional Standards
Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
Attend meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings
Complete and submit timesheets and reports accurately and on time
Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
Follow safe systems of work and industry best practices
Promote a proactive safety-first culture across all site activities
Ensure proper handling and use of tools, materials, and equipment
Essential Requirements
Level 2 & Level 3 Electrical Qualifications
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
HVAP / LVAP Authorisation
Experience working in critical environments, data centres, or similar (preferred)
