You will play a key role in driving operational performance, compliance, and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and service providers.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
- Create and maintain a positive, high-performing team culture focused on collaboration and service excellence
- Lead, support, and develop Engineering Technicians, setting clear objectives and performance expectations
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Support individual development plans and career progression
- Ensure effective operation and maintenance of building services systems, including electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- Operate and oversee High Voltage (HV) systems where required
- Carry out plant inspections, audits, and technical reviews
- Ensure delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works to a high standard
- Ensure full compliance with client contractual requirements and KPIs
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Manage and mitigate operational risks to prevent service disruption
- Support compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), RAMS, and safety procedures
- Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)
- Deliver training and guidance to engineering staff
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive service enhancements and operational efficiencies
- Manage and coordinate vendors and subcontractors delivering workplace services
- Ensure service providers meet quality, safety, and performance standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, translating strategy into operational delivery
- Collaborate with wider teams to improve technical service delivery and workplace experience
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- HV Authorised Person (HVAP) status
- City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
- L8 Water Hygiene / Legionella Awareness certification
- Strong understanding of evaporative cooling systems and Legionella control
- Proven experience within building services, facilities management, or critical environments
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance procedures
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Proactive, organised, and results-driven approach
- Strong technical and operational decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear progression into Engineering Management roles
