🕒 Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating shifts (days & nights)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Shift Technician / Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting a modern workplace environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in building services, facilities maintenance, or critical environments who enjoys fault finding, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and maintaining high-performance building systems.
Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining building services systems, ensuring operational reliability, and delivering high-quality engineering services within a professional workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Engineering Operations
Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across building services systems
Complete reactive maintenance and fault finding efficiently
Maintain mechanical and electrical plant to ensure operational reliability
Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS)
Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs
Ensure all works meet contractual KPIs and service standards
Compliance & Safety
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and Safe Systems of Work
Ensure compliance with statutory maintenance requirements
Support emergency response procedures and incident management
Champion risk management and operational safety best practice
Team Collaboration
Work closely with engineering colleagues and wider workplace teams
Promote a culture of teamwork, service excellence, and knowledge sharing
Support training and mentoring within the engineering team
Maintain clear communication during shift handovers
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability and performance
Support initiatives that improve efficiency, resilience, and sustainability
Maintain accurate records through digital systems and maintenance platforms
Essential Qualifications & Experience
City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience working within facilities maintenance or building services environments
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems
Experience working with BMS or digital building monitoring systems
Ability to work effectively in a shift-based engineering team
Desirable Qualifications
HV/LV Authorised Person (AP15) status (training available)
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations or equivalent mechanical qualification
HNC or HND in Engineering
Confined Space Authorised Person
Mechanical Pressure Systems AP
IOSH Health & Safety certification
Working Pattern
12-hour rotational shift pattern (days and nights)
Site-based engineering role
Flexibility to provide support outside normal shifts if required
