Fabric Engineer – Hatfield
Our client is seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join their team at a high-profile commercial site in Hatfield. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional environment with career progression, ongoing training, and upskilling within a growing sector.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Participation in the on-call rota as required
Key Responsibilities
Conduct visual inspections across plant rooms and communal areas
Carry out painting, decorating, tiling, carpentry, grouting, and plastering works
Undertake basic plumbing and drainage duties, including flushing systems
Replace and maintain lighting, including testing emergency lighting
Test fire alarms and fire doors in line with compliance requirements
Perform minor electrical works as required
Repair and maintain building fixtures such as doors, handles, locks, and windows
Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in line with site requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
City & Guilds 18th Edition certification
Proven experience in a fabric maintenance or building services role
Strong understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Ability to fault-find single- and three-phase control and distribution circuits
Familiarity with lighting systems, motors, UPS, emergency generation, and HVAC plant
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
City & Guilds or BTEC in Electrical Engineering
Experience with Computacenter head office systems
Certification for access equipment (IPAF, PASMA)
Additional specialist or technical training
Health & Safety qualifications
Key Success Factors

Proactive identification and resolution of defects
Minimising downtime across critical services
Strict adherence to statutory, compliance, and health & safety standards
