The role
We have an opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a commercial management position within an infrastructure environment.
Working closely with the Cost & Commercial Director, you will support commercial, cost control, and governance activities across lifecycle works, variations, and compliance programmes, with clear progression into a Commercial Manager role.
This role would suit someone who is:

Interested in infrastructure, lifecycle, and construction projects
Duties
Supporting commercial and cost management activities
Assisting with tender reviews, cost plans, and contract documentation
Supporting cash flow forecasting and cost reporting
Monitoring consultant and supplier performance with senior support
Assisting with procurement activities and supplier appointments
Supporting governance, compliance, and assurance processes
Gaining exposure to lifecycle and variation management
Qualifications / Requirements
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying
Working towards chartership (or strong commitment to progress)
Experience in a commercial construction role post-degree
(supporting or assisting level acceptable)Good understanding of cost planning, cash flow forecasting, and contract administration
Experience supporting capital project work programmes
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to governance and compliance
Familiarity with risk management and continuous improvement practices
Ability to successfully obtain a DBS check
