About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join a high-performing team within a mission-critical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across mechanical, electrical, and building systems, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
The successful candidate will take ownership of PPM and reactive maintenance, liaise with the Shift Leader regarding system performance, and contribute to maintaining the operational effectiveness and reliability of plant, equipment, and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and emergency tasks in line with contract requirements for mechanical and electrical systems.
Monitor, maintain, and report on plant and Building Management Systems (BMS), escalating faults and anomalies promptly.
Conduct routine inspections and PPM in line with schedules, maintaining high engineering standards.
Proactively engage in preventative maintenance, ensuring excellent site husbandry.
Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, controls, and associated equipment.
Address all Helpdesk-related reactive maintenance issues, including HVAC, pumps, water tanks, valves, pipework, and related systems.
Assist in training, guiding, and mentoring team members on SOPs and EOPs.
Support incident management in a critical and secure environment.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in industrial, commercial, or domestic environments.
Strong expertise in PPMs per SFG20 or equivalent and advanced fault-finding diagnostic skills.
Competent in the electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules.
Hands-on experience with:
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Air Conditioning equipment
Cold water systems and Heating & Ventilation systems
Water treatment
UPS and Emergency Generators
Significant experience in multi-disciplinary technical teams within complex facilities.
Extensive M&E operations management experience in business-critical client environments.
Authorisations: HV & LV Authorised Person
Familiarity with fuelling procedures, HV generation, and control systems.
Experience working within critical, secure environments.
Ability to complete critical environment and scenario training as required.
Desirable Qualifications:
18th Edition IEE Regulations
Electrical apprenticeship
IOSH Working/Managing Safely
L8 training
Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work – PTW/RAMS
