Data Centre Supervisor Location: London

The Role As Data Centre Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all data centre assets. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with strong supervisory leadership, acting as a trusted point of contact for site operations, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
With responsibility across electrical, mechanical, and data centre–specific systems, you will help maintain a resilient 24/7 operation while driving best practice, continuous improvement, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain all mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, including high-voltage isolations and switching operations.
- Supervise planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring works are completed safely, compliantly, and to programme.
- Prepare, review, and implement SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, permits to work (PTW), risk assessments, and client change control documentation.
- Ensure full subcontractor compliance with site procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Review, sign off, and audit subcontractor works, escalating quality or performance concerns to the Data Centre Operations Manager as required.
- Produce accurate technical reports, asset records, and maintenance documentation, including tracking of critical spares and stock usage.
- Coordinate repairs and corrective works on critical plant and equipment in collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and the Engineering / Technical Services Manager (ESM/TSM).
- Participate in engineering Quality Assurance (QA) processes to verify the standard and completeness of completed works.
- Champion Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) standards through hazard reporting, near-miss investigations, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support, mentor, and develop technicians and apprentices, fostering a positive, safety-focused, and high-performance team culture.
- Oversee day-to-day performance of shift and day teams, including coordination of holiday and sickness cover.
- Complete role-specific training in line with the DCS training matrix and actively support continuous professional development.
- Proven experience in a data centre or other critical environment, or within a supervisory role in Facilities Management (FM).
- HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
- Proactive, detail-driven, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Competent IT skills, including experience with maintenance management systems and standard business software.
- Calm, decisive, and resilient under pressure, particularly during critical incidents.
- Flexible approach to work, including attendance at on-site and off-site training (with overnight stays where required).
- Professional, enthusiastic, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.
