Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the effective operation of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services across multiple buildings on a large estate. As a key member of the Maintenance Team, you will deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works, while also providing technical support to M&E project activities as required.
You will be accountable for completing all tasks in line with contractual obligations, achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Engineering & Operational Support
- Provide engineering support across multiple sites within the region.
- Support FM teams with technical expertise and effective fault resolution.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in the engineering call-out rota.
- Complete PPMs, reactive maintenance, and self-delivered tasks within agreed timescales.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Safe Systems of Work.
- Supervise contractors, ensuring all health and safety inductions and compliance requirements are met.
- Act as a Safety Champion by proactively identifying, raising, and addressing health and safety concerns on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate system shutdowns when required.
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Maintain site documentation to meet all legal and statutory requirements.
- Monitor and manage stock levels of consumables and critical electrical spares.
- Proactively manage workload and time to support PPM and reactive maintenance across multiple buildings.
- Raise material requests, obtain quotations, and complete all associated documentation.
- Manage work orders through the CAFM system and ensure accurate, timely completion of timesheets.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK electrical standards and regulations.
- Develop and retain a broad understanding of M&E systems across all sites.
- Review O&M manuals for new electrical systems and advise on PPM schedule adjustments where required.
- Participate in relevant training, including Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP) duties and company procedures.
- Act as a proactive and supportive member of the Maintenance Team.
- Work closely with supervisors and management to deliver service excellence.
- Liaise with subcontractors to obtain specifications, repair quotations, and material pricing.
- City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2–3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Working knowledge of SFG20 Maintenance Specification.
- Relevant building maintenance training (e.g. First Aid, MEWP, PASMA, Water Treatment, LMS, BMS).
- Health & Safety training.
- Membership of a professional engineering body (desirable).
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems within a building maintenance environment.
- Proven experience working within a multi-disciplinary technical team in complex facilities.
- Familiarity with asset management systems, CAFM platforms, and PDA/mobile device usage.
- Excellent all-round capability in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office and CAFM/job management systems.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and effective communication with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a flexible and positive approach to change.
- Strong awareness of the commercial and operational environment in which the business operates.
