Building Services Shift Engineer
City of London
£53,500 (Salary + Shift Alowance)
24/7 Shift Pattern (Days & Nights)
Overtime, Training, Pension, etc.
Our client are a global property and real estate organisation, with a number of high profile accounts across corporate offices, healthcare, financial services and other sectors. Based at a large multi-tenant building in the City of London for a Global financial services client, due to implementing a new 24/7 shift pattern at client request they seek to recruit 2x multi-skilled shift engineers to work on a rotating shift pattern, looking after all mechanical, electrical and general HVAC / Building Services systems across the building. Working on a 12 hour 4-on / 4-off pattern, the guideline salary for these positions is £53,500 (£50,500 + £3,000 Shift allowance) along with the opportunity for overtime in the form of shift cover, as well as a healthy budget for training.
Dut to the critical nature of the site (Financial Services / Trading Floors), the client seeks strong multi-skilled engineers who can combine a technical mindset with a customer focused approach. Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering (ideally through a full apprenticeship), with at least five years of relevant experience within a similar M&E / building services maintenance role within a similar corporate environment for example a Bank / Global Firms HQ, etc. Other desirable qualifications include L8, F-Gas, 2391, IOSH/NEBOSH, etc.
Particular working knowledge should extend to: Single & Three Phase Power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, Pumps & Motors, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, BMS Operation, Water Treatment (Taps, Cooling Towers), Pressurisation Units, VRV/VRFs, Diesel Generators, UPS Systems, HV / LV Distribution (AP Status, Switching & Site Shutdowns, Permits), VRV/VRFs, 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults, etc.
This is an exciting chance to work in a high-spec environment in the City of London, and will suit a shift engineer or multi-skilled engineer experienced working in a similar financial / corporate environment keen to further their experience within that specialist field. While this organisation look after the tenant areas of the building rather than landlord, the employer do seek candidates with a strong critical / landlord background combined with the soft skills gained working in corporate environments. With potential to further career through training and development at a high-profile contract, this is the opportunity to join a market leader within critical environment management.
