Our client is seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer for day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of Mechanical and Electrical (M+E) services across multiple buildings on the estate.
As a part of the Maintenance Team, the Engineer will be responsible for performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance tasks on various buildings. Additionally, they may be involved in technical coordination for project works related to Mechanical and Electrical engineering systems across the estate. The Engineer will take ownership of task delivery, meeting contract requirements and agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Responsibilities include adhering to Safe Systems of Work, engineering standards, and providing technical assistance. The ideal candidate, though electrically biased, should possess a broad range of building services experience, supporting colleagues and working in other disciplines as needed.

Key Duties:
- Provide engineering support to sites within the region and assist FM support teams.
- Respond to emergency situations and be part of the engineering call-out roster.
- Ensure completion of self-delivery tasks within the region.
- Execute PPMs and reactive work orders within specified timeframes.
- Comply with H&S inductions and supervise contractors.
- Coordinate system shutdowns when required.
- Manage stock levels of consumables and critical spare parts for electrical systems.
- Ensure economical, efficient, and safe maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Manage designated site documentation, ensuring legal and statutory obligations are met.
- Act as a Safety Champion, raising concerns and addressing issues weekly.
- Proactively manage time for PPM and reactive support across multiple buildings.
- Raise material requests, obtain quotations, and complete material request forms.
- Manage jobs via the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
- Complete accurate timesheets.
- Stay updated on UK electrical standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of M+E knowledge for all sites.
- Review O+M manuals for new electrical systems and advise on PPM changes.
- Participate in training for applicable policies and procedures, including Low Voltage AP duties.
- Be a proactive member of the Maintenance team, supporting supervisors and managers.
- Liaise with subcontractors for specifications, repair quotes, and material quotes.
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 NVQ Level 2-3 Electrical or equivalent with 18th Edition IEE Regs (BS7671).
- Working knowledge of SFG20 Maintenance Specification.
- Relevant training in building maintenance environment (first aid, MEWP, PASMA, Water Treatment Systems, LMS, BMS, etc.).
- Health and Safety Training.
- Membership of a professional engineering body is desirable.
- Knowledge of Asset management / CAFM / use of PDAs.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems and building services in a maintenance environment.
- Extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary technical team within complex facilities.
- Excellent all-round ability in a busy building maintenance team.
- Proficient in IT skills – MS Office, CAFM systems, job management, etc.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with customers, employees, and teams at all levels.
- Proactive customer-focused approach.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude towards innovation and change.
- High awareness of the market in which the business operates.
