Role: Electrician

Location: Carlisle

Salary: £28,407 - £34,581 + NHS Pension & Holidays

Our Client is a leading Estates & Facilities Operations business who are looking to Recruit an Additional Electrician to their Maintenance Team.

Within this role you will required to undertake; Planned Maintenance, Breakdown and Repairs and New Installation work in Healthcare Environments, including:


  • Fire alarm systems
  • Building Management Systems
  • Staff attack and nurse call systems
  • Intruder alarm and security systems
  • Electrical installations in accordance with all IEE regulations and relevant standards
  • Electrical infrastructure including Electrical Inspection and Testing
  • Fault finding and repair of plant, controls, and equipment.
  • Emergency generator testing, maintenance, and fault finding.
  • Mechanical building services fault finding repair and maintenance within skillset.
  • Heating & Cooling Systems
  • Undertake the Role of "Competent Person" as defined by Health Technical Memorandum 06-02
  • Undertake Condition Surveys of Electrical Systems and Electrical
  • Infrastructure within Healthcare Facilities

Skills, Attributes, Qualifications:


  • The post holder must have completed a recognised and registered indentured apprenticeship, with a City and Guilds (NVQ level 3) Electrical certification or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations or most recent update.
  • Comprehensive Post Apprenticeship Experience
  • Some Estates experience within the healthcare sector.
  • Broad experience of all related Estates activities - multi skilling.
  • Experience to an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge of electrical engineering programs.
  • Previous practical experience in electrical engineering installation service
  • Experience of cross- trade working flexibility on mechanical
  • Large scale electrical distribution systems (1&3ph LV)
  • Electrical maintenance and installation experience
  • Full understanding of Electrical services and Electrical control systems
  • Good knowledge of Estates maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge on legislative development.
