Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for undertaking Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance in alignment with Site Procedures, Rules, and Line Management Instructions. The role involves meeting Contractual Obligations, adhering to Quality Standards, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Objectives, and providing detailed reports on effectiveness. Operating and maintaining plant and equipment in a safe and controlled manner is a crucial aspect of the position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the O&M Team Leader to ensure accurate and complete documentation of Quality Management and Compliance for O&M activities at each site.
  • Proactively drive Legislative and Contractual Compliance, profitability, and customer satisfaction within the assigned customer portfolio.
  • Offer technical assistance to clients, contractors, and colleagues within the operational sphere, ensuring compliance with Quality Standards and HSE Objectives.
  • Manage customer HSE objectives and Quality Standards meticulously, ensuring the adoption of Safe Working Practices during maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete internal performance management reports for client final reporting.
  • Implement HSE Policies, Procedures, and Objectives, ensuring their achievement throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure Statutory and Mandatory Inspections are conducted and documented satisfactorily, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Manage Subcontractor relationships in accordance with the above responsibilities.
  • Specialize in HIU (Heat Interface Unit) Commissioning.

Qualifications:
  • Completed a recognized apprenticeship and qualified to HND / City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical / Gas engineering discipline, registered with the appropriate body as required.
  • Qualified as a Steam Boiler / CHP Operator.
  • Possess relevant trade experience.
Core/ Technical/ Safety Competencies:
Knowledge:
  • Mechanical / Electrical engineering in a similar environment, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of current industry practices and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining commercial & domestic heating systems, including industrial CHP, LTHW boilers, gas, oil, biomass plant, absorption chillers/ air-conditioning plant, HVAC systems, and associated distribution systems/ equipment, along with plant monitoring systems (BMS, PMS).
  • Proficient in heating systems, Energy Centre processes, and supporting distribution systems.
  • Sound technical knowledge in electronic maintenance systems, including fault finding and testing within a similar environment.
  • Ability to prepare Method statements, Risk, COSHH Assessments, and Permits to Work.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and current Internet technologies.
Other:
  • Promote and adhere to equality and health and safety policies.
  • Engage in performance reviews and development planning with the manager.
  • Possess a full UK driving license.
  • Flexibility in working practices and hours, including participation in the callout / standby rota (no fixed site – mobile working required).
  • Maintain a good level of attendance to support colleagues.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the nature, responsibilities, and seniority of the post.
Personal Qualities:
  • Good Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Strong IT Skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Confident manner, with the ability to work to deadlines while remaining focused.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
