Job Title: Facilities Site Manager

Line Manager: Area Manager

Responsibilities: All facilities staff on the allocated site

Department: Operations

Purpose of Role:

Build Recruitment is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dedicated Facilities Site Manager to oversee the operational management and delivery of all facilities management services within a specific region or location(s) on behalf of our esteemed client. This role is pivotal in managing the customer interface in a designated area of an estate, ensuring a high profile in the daily operations of the sites, and maintaining a consistent, strong link with our clients to address their needs and concerns effectively and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have budget control responsibilities for the site, encompassing staffing and training aspects. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent customer relationship skills, supplier management expertise, and the ability to lead a diverse team effectively. As a key member of the operations team, the Facilities Site Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the business's performance by fostering a culture of customer care and service excellence.

Occasionally, the role may involve deputising for a Cluster Manager as required.

Principal Accountabilities:


  • Cultivate a culture of exceptional customer service, establishing robust relationships with clients.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the facilities staff to ensure efficient daily management of services, aligning with long-term goals and objectives.
  • Maintain staff qualifications and compliance with Health and Safety and legal standards.
  • Strategize and implement improvements to the facilities management service to ensure it is effective and offers value for money.
  • Build professional partnerships with senior Operations colleagues and key decision-makers.
  • Manage payroll issues, budgetary forecasts, and contribute to achieving corporate objectives.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, acting as Fire Warden or First Aider as needed.
  • Develop a senior management team to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance.
  • Oversee site and service inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage staffing levels and mandatory training completion according to service level agreements.

Minimum Eligibility:


  • Subject to security and identity checks.
  • Candidates are subject to a 6 months probation period.
  • Declaration of non-affiliation with groups considered racist by the Prison Service.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Apprenticeship in a facilities/building services trade or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in planning, project management, and financial planning.
  • Expertise in change management and improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office.

Experience:


  • Experience in facilities management and budget management.
  • Experience in managing staff and working with third parties.
  • Experience in a Prison or Military environment is desirable.

Knowledge:


  • Health and safety knowledge equivalent to IOSH.
  • Understanding of routine preventive maintenance.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in facilities management or project management are advantageous.
