The Role: Head of Food Safety
Sector: Foodservice - Multi-site
Location: Nationwide with Travel
Salary: Up to £70,000pa DOE + Package
We have an amazing opportunity here for a Head of Food Safety to join a Nationwide Food Service Group as they continue on a robust journey of growth, change and improvement.
A leadership role, the Head of Food Safety will be the authority within the group across UK and Europe. You will lead and drive ownership and compliance to the Food Safety Management Systems and Processes and build excellent relationships across the larger business. Quality Assurance will be high on the agenda, and you will also play a major part in the training and development of the food delivery team.
Key Purpose of the role:
- To review the Food Management System and ensure it is fit for purpose.
- Develop the system to be industry leading in its approach.
- To create a Primary Authority relationship to support Food Safety Governance
- Support assurance reviews on current practices covering site food safety management systems and compliance to legislation and Company Standards and Policies.
- To support key stakeholders in improving food safety related practice and to design and provide a food safety management system and quality assurance model for the group.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Qualified to a degree level in food science, food quality, environmental health (or another relevant course)
- Level 4/Advance Food Safety (valid within 5 years or evidence of refresher)
- Level 4/Advanced qualification in HACCP (valid within 5 years or evidence of refresher)
Desirable
- Qualification or training in internal auditing, principles and practices
- Experience as an Environmental Health Officer
Knowledge/Experience
- Food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls
- ISO standards and accreditation
- Significant experience within a Food Services setting
- Auditing experience against management systems within the food environment
