Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join the team based at Trowbridge Fire Station with the flexibility to work from home / DWFRS Stations / Support Offices.
Working on a full time, permanent basis, 37 hours per week and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £37,261 per annum. (Rising in annual increments to £40,478).

As the Senior Building Surveyor you will:
- Co-ordinate the planned and reactive environmental maintenance programmes with the appointed external contractors.
- Assist with legislative compliance and co-ordination of outcome and works from risk assessments.
- Assist with the management of contractors to deliver the planned and reactive environmental works across the property portfolio.
- Be responsible for day-to-day management of the environmental capital works and revenue budgets specific to the property services function within the Estates Department.
- Assist the Environmental & Compliance Manager with quality assuring all property works to ensure compliance with legislation, workmanship, materials incorporated within the works and value for money.
- Monitor and report on revenue and capital budgets to the Environmental & Compliance Manager.
- Assist the Environmental & Compliance Manager with ensuring property services procurements are in compliance with relevant legislation, to include value for money and ensuring legally binding contracts are in place to govern the delivery of required works.
What makes you our ideal Senior Building Surveyor?
- Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent professional membership.
- Considerable knowledge and experience of project management, environmental and energy management including budgetary control and stakeholder consultation, principles, design and on-site work.
- Substantial knowledge and experience of design and construction standards, procedures, techniques, legislative compliance, conditions survey as well as Health and Safety in construction.
Other Information:
- You must have a full current driving licence. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available.
- The role will at times have significant travel requirements across DWFRS sites.
- A Basic Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
