Job Title: Drainage and Plumbing Engineer
Location: Galashiels
Salary: up to £35,000
We are a leading facilities management company seeking an experienced Drainage and Plumbing Engineer to join our team in Galashiels. As an FM Drainage and Plumbing Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of commercial drainage and plumbing installation, commission, fault finding, and maintenance including CCTV surveying, jetting, unblocking, excavations, drainage plan mapping and repairs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial plumbing and drainage maintenance within the FM sector.
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking all aspects of commercial drainage and plumbing installation, commission, fault finding, and maintenance including CCTV surveying, jetting, unblocking, excavations, drainage plan mapping and repairs
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and task schedules as directed by the Help Desk and/or management team
- Providing accurate timesheet information to designated timeframes
- Carrying out basic facilities maintenance tasks as required
- Supporting team members including acting as second-man where required
- Participating in a 24 hour call out rota
- Attending team meetings or briefings as required
Requirements:
- A relevant trade qualification in plumbing or drainage, such as City & Guilds or NVQ
- Proven experience in commercial plumbing and drainage maintenance within the FM sector
- A sound understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards, with the ability to apply these effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Ability to manage projects and work independently, whilst maintaining a focus on delivering results that exceed client expectations
- Full UK driving license
