Do you want to work for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Property Directorate and play a key role in managing one of the most diverse and complex estates in Government? The MoJ Property Directorate’s property portfolio includes Prisons, Probation, and MoJ HQ and Arm’s Length Bodies.  Also providing property services on behalf of the Home Office (HO).

Area Property Operations Managers (APOMS) are responsible for working directly with clients and suppliers, including regular site visits, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of hard and soft Facilities Manager (FM) services for their portfolio. This is a key contract management role requiring specialist knowledge, with responsibility for overseeing the delivery of the contract and works projects, defining projects and for technical and statutory assurance. 

APOMs work alongside Property Operations Managers (POMs) and report directly to Regional Property Operations Managers (RPOMs) for their region.

The properties and account allocated to the role can sometimes be altered over time to meet business demand, providing excellent development opportunities for the post holder.

Regular travel across regions and to HQ in Petty France, London will be expected as and when required.

Locational Merit List: Please note this campaign will be using a locational merit list system of appointment. This means the highest rated candidate will be appointed from the region in which the vacancy has arisen. This means that even if you have scored higher than the candidate being selected, you will not be selected, as you are not within the region with the vacancy.

The current available vacancy in the following regions is listed below, West Midlands. After this appointment has been fulfilled under the locational merit list process, the remaining candidates who have successfully passed their assessments will remain on a locational merit list for 12 months. 

HMP Birmingham: Winson Green Road, Birmingham, B18 4AS

HMP Hewell: Hewell Lane, Redditch, Worcestershire, B97 6QS

These are locational roles, and the specific place of work will be agreed upon successful selection.
