The Role: Energy and Sustainability Specialist

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: up to £60,000pa + Benefits

I am working on a new role with one of my favourite Entertainment clients! This group are going from strength to strength and they have their people at the heart of all they do. Their mission is clear ‘to create memorable experiences’ for all.

This role is a new and exciting opportunity for an Energy & Sustainability candidate to join and have an amazing impact on how the group functions.

About the role:

Joining the procurement team,the purpose of the role is to manage the implementation of the company's Energy Management and Sustainability strategy. This will involve identifying the specific areas of energy usage, quantifying the energy consumption and determining opportunities for cost effective and sustainable energy improvements. Ensuring the implementation of measures to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions. You will oversee and execute sustainable initiatives across the business engaging both Head Office and Venue teams to achieve positive impacts and maximise cost efficiencies

The right candidate will be self-motivated, a good communicator, well presented, professional, with excellent operational standards and attention to detail, and should lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Act as subject matter expert in the field of energy and carbon, providing advice and input across the business to all stakeholders
  • Identify and implement energy efficiency measures, low and zero carbon solutions and operational best practices
  • Development of the energy procurement strategy and implementation alongside the UK Procurement Director
  • Lead on positive movement into Green Energy
  • Devise and deliver the best tools and systems to monitor performance of strategies for energy and carbon reduction
  • Responsible for carrying out surveys, reviewing new technologies and submitting recommendations after full evaluation relating to carbon reduction, sustainability, and estate assets

Essential:


  • Qualification in relevant discipline to Degree level or equivalent specialist knowledge
  • Have extensive experience of managing and promoting sustainable development, monitoring and managing carbon emissions and managing energy or waste within a large organisation
  • Practical experience of carrying out environmental and energy audits and surveys
  • Experience communicating with senior management on a range of climate change, ESG and /or risk management topics
  • Strong ability to initiate and effect business and behaviour change
