Site Supervisor - National role

£28,000 - £30,000 plus Vehicle, Pension and other benefits

Role Purpose:

To Represent the interests of both Company and the client in regard to checking that project co-ordination, communication and the quality of both materials and workmanship are in accordance with the project requirements.

Undertake site attendance during works on site to oversee the H&S during the construction/works phases (a blend of in hours and out of hours working). The Site Supervisor will induct operatives, arrange welfare arrangements, manage, and assesses any potential safety hazards on site with a view of eliminating them. They will also conduct a regular site inspection and provide a safety programme and working closely with the 3 rd party on site managers/supervisors

Role Responsibilities:


  • Coordinating with site management to filter duties down to team;
  • Performing all required duties on site as instructed;
  • Conduct work according to industry health & safety standards.
  • To ensure the safety of all site users, visitors, staff and contractors at the site;
  • Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepare and file accident reports;
  • Work with Contract Manager and Business Manager to plan and programme contract works including forward programming;
  • Ensure Safe Plans of Action/dynamic risk assessments are completed by the subcontractor and reviewed as necessary;
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety;
  • Conducting inspections and identifying problems daily to ensure they don't lead to budget overruns;
  • Motivating the workforce;
  • Ensuring we meet all statutory regulations related to health and safety, fire safety, etc. and keeping appropriate records;
  • Maintaining quality control procedures;
  • Monitor ongoing construction to ensure that the work is being done correctly and the project stays on schedule;
  • Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety standards;
  • Produce documentation and progress reports for the Project Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • A recognised Project Management qualification.
  • Must hold a valid driving license and and vehicle
  • In possession of or willing to work towards additional relevant qualifications
  • Valid CSCS card/ SSSTS Certificate
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to understand and carry out instructions;
  • PC Literate on MS suite i.e. Word, Excel;
  • A willingness to learn on the job.
  • Customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in a matrixed organization.
  • Flexible approach to working hours. (70% of work is expected to be out of hours)
  • Ability to assimilate large volume of data and summarise
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and with versatility in responding to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Well organised with excellent time management, ability to work in a pressurised environment
