The Role: Head of Security

Our client is a premier entertainment destination for both local and international visitors. They are redefining entertainment and providing guests with a broad choice of gaming options, restaurant and bar hospitality, live entertainment and other leisure offerings to meet their expectations.
To support their seamless delivery, we are looking for and experience and qualified Head of Security to join the team.
All About You:
The Head of Security will have exceptional skills in relation people management, negotiation and communication skills with all internal and external customers. Leading by example, the Head of Security will be an advocate of creating a friendly, entertaining and safe environment, compliant with license conditions and SIA legislation. Providing timely advice, support, guidance and direction for both site employees and patrons with regards to the secure and compliant environment.
All About the Role:
The Head of Security will be accountable for providing directional and visible leadership for the Security team, fulfilling key objectives and leading by example on the delivery of exceptional guest service and minimising risk through the demonstration of an acute understanding of localised security compliance.
The role is fundamental in the management of a department through developing, motivating and empowering Security team members to deliver an engaging customer experience and by leading in example in ensuring that core service values are demonstrated. Contributing to the site Business strategy by being effective communicators & decision makers; being commercially astute; being focused on achieving key performance objectives; displaying the expected professional behaviours as well as protecting the business assets.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for team demonstrating and leading by example on full understanding of:
- Operating license conditions. license entry conditions.
- Liquor license conditions.
- SIA licensing conditions.
- Full accountability and responsibility for the operation of the security department.
- Full accountability for the management of any third party security agency agreements
- Takes the lead in supporting the operations in the management of emergency situations.
- Accountability for the Fire Safety regulations at site level.
- Responsibility and knowledge of the H&S functionality of the site.
- Manages service standards to ensure that department integrity is maintained.
- Accountable for labour management in line with operational requirements and customer service & workforce analysis models
- Focused on minimising risk to employees, patrons, company assets and reputation.
- Leads by example in the confident and appropriate resolution of department disputes in line with Company policy and procedures.
- Provide updates; advice on best practice in legislation, security developments
- Development and maintenance of the Company Security procedures manual.
Working Hours: The role functions in a business that operates 20 hours a day 7 days a week, and as such full flexibility is required. The role will be expected to be available to work for any requirements within Aspers & this will mean evening & weekend obligations outside of ‘normal’ working hours.
Essential
- Valid SIA Doors Supervisor License holder
- A minimum of 2 year management experience in a Security driven environment governed by legislation.
- Excellent understanding of compliance and security issues within the industry
- Robust knowledge and understanding of localised license conditions
- Knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and other legislative requirements
- Extensive knowledge of service industry and service culture.
- Exceptional knowledge of Gaming products; services and facilities
