We are recruiting for a Technical Services Manager to work as part of a large M+E team on an established PFI contract. Working alongside a team of 3 other TSM's, you will manage an engineering shift team who will deliver ppm and reactive maintenance across the hospital, covering all planned and breakdown work on the building assets. The sites operate 24/7 and you are responsible for the engineering rota and all statutory compliance on works completed. As the team has both Mechanical and Electrical Technical Managers you can come from either background and will be managing similar skilled technicians. You will also go on the AP rota which attracts an additional payment (training provided) for your technical specalism meaning you will be authorised to sign off high level technical works on site.

Duties of the role include:


  • Ensuring all PPM and reactive maintenance jobs are well managed.
  • Manage KPI's to reduce penalties for missed maintenance jobs.
  • Work with the customer to create strong business relationships.
  • Manage technical compliance and ensure safe operation of all M+E works.
  • Health and Safety and Risk assessments - working alongside the SHEQ team.
  • the site Health & Safety (H&S) Plan and associated Risk Assessments, alongside the SHEQ team.
  • Managing 24/7 engineering rotas
  • Managing proactive lifecycle works as well as maintenance.
  • Staff management and development

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:


  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience and qualification - HND/C ideal but NVQ and City and Guilds also considered.
  • Driven and positive attitude
  • PFI/Healthcare experience desirable
  • Able to demonstrate technical leadership on a complex account.
  • Strong man management skills
  • Willing to undergo additional training needed for the specific work environment.
