HVAC Project Supervisor
Location: London and Home Counties
Base Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Main Job Role
Our client are a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) contractor, who deliver specialist, turnkey projects, of up to £1.5 million in value, to an enviable list of blue chip, end-user clients.
The Project Supervisor is an integral part of the projects team and key to the successful operation of the division. The ideal candidate will be an experienced installer and supervisor, with a background in at least one mechanical or electrical building services trade, and will be responsible for all site level matters on a project.
The role will vary depending on the type of project, with larger projects requiring an overall site supervisor managing a CDM compliant building site with multiple sub-contractors. The smaller projects will require a working supervisor, dividing around 50% of their time between assisting with the installation and 50% supervising the site.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
Site Supervision:
- Installation and on-site management of teams installing:
- DX Systems
- Chillers
- Boilers
- AHU's, fans and duct work
- Electrical Power & Controls
- Allocating works to personnel and subcontractors on site on a daily basis and ensuring milestones are achieved
- Site management of specialist sub-contractors
- Managing personnel and material resources on a project, including but not limited to; purchasing, hire equipment and labour levels.
- Daily updates to the project manager
- Full weekly reports to the project manager
- Tracking and maintaining project programme.
- Quality snagging of works, reporting and rectification thereof.
- Attending site meetings and communication with the client's representatives in person, on the phone and via email.
- Attending pre-start meetings with the project team in order to understand the project expectations and contribute ideas at the pre-construction stage
- Site inspections on behalf of the project manager and reporting back.
- Management of material take off lists.
- Identify and mitigate project on site risks.
- Solve technical issues that arise.
- Commercial awareness on site, including:
- Management of drawings on site
- Ensuring latest construction drawings used on site correlate to the latest issued drawings listed on the drawing register
- Ensuring that the company labelling strategy and industry standards are adhered to for all new equipment and services installed
- Marking up of drawings at the end of the project so that the draughtsman has the information necessary to produce the 'as built' drawings
Commissioning:
- Ensure robust and quality hand over of installation and documentation to commissioning team
- Management of commissioning engineers and ensuring all aspects of a project are commissioned correctly
- Witnessing commissioning readings and ensuring in line with design figures
- Collating all commissioning documentation for the O&M
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years installation experience
- Full clean UK driving licence
- SSSTS
- CSCS card
Desired Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 Diploma in a building services trade
- 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants (F-Gas)
- IOSH or NEBOSH
- SMSTS
- First aid at work
Package
