An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large NHS organisation as an Operational Quality Team Lead.

The post will be based in the Midlands area on an interim basis for 6 months, working on the government PCR programme. 

The post holder will supervise teams on site to ensure activities are completed accurately and on time.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop a system for reporting product performance data to identify trends and evidence conformity, liaising with the central quality team;
  • Document all processes and procedures required and report the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS);
  • Act as a role model and create a working environment which acknowledges and pro-actively supports compliance;
  • Develop & manage key performance indicators to increase/ monitor departmental performance;
  • Assist in the development of individuals through coaching and provide guidance and training to employees within the department;
  • Support with the operational quality requirements of the end-to-end kitting process and coordinate with central quality group;
  • Contribute to the management of the ISO13485 quality system;
  • Promote awareness of regulatory and QMS requirements throughout the team;
  • Assist with the planning of shift schedules of operational quality personnel across sites to ensure appropriate staffing;
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and communicate with them effectively and clearly;
  • Drive efficiency by proactively looking at what can be improved, and sharing these opportunities;
  • Oversee root-cause analysis and implement corrective and mitigating actions to resolve problems;
  • Support the long-term relationship between DHSC and external partners and colleagues, aligning to a common goal and approach;
  • Assist in ensuring adherence to quality metrics;
  • Maintain compliance of PCR kits to ISO13485;
  • Ensure end to end kitting is operated to all approved work instructions and required documentation is completed in full;
  • Oversee new kit introduction and approvals and validation of new processes.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of supply chain and logistics;
  • Ideally working knowledge of ISO13485 would be advantageous;
  • Experience in operating within a quality system environment;
  • Demonstratable experience of managing a team;
  • The ability to be adaptable to a complex and changing environment, and prioritise accordingly;
  • Excellent analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to build strong relationships and work closely with several different stakeholders and teams in various capacities;
  • Self-motivation, organisation, and the ability to manage their own projects.
