FM Operations Manager
£50,644 - £57,480
Portsdown West, Fareham and Porton Down, Salisbury

At Dstl, we provide the science inside the UK’s defence and technology. It’s our job to design and deliver cutting-edge solutions that keep the UK safe. Our estate team play a key role in ensuring we have the equipment and facilities we need to do this successfully. They provide invaluable operational support – enabling us to remain a proven national asset.

As FM Operations Manager, you’ll ensure our estate is safe, secure and compliant. You’ll act as the go-to for operational issues across technical and soft services, and lead the FM provider and wider estate team in delivering a service that’s fit for purpose. Approachable and reassuring, you’ll be a strong project manager, able to prioritise your workload effectively while having a visible presence on-site.

You’ll have experience managing and delivering complex projects. With your background, you’ll know all about statutory, regulatory and professional requirements. So, whether it’s liaising with the local authority or carrying out compliance activity across the estate, you’ll make informed decisions while building excellent relationships with everyone you work with. You’ll be straightforward, honest and engaging when discussing issues, and ensure that you consider the diverse interests of stakeholders, colleagues and external sources.

At this level, you’ll have a membership or qualifications recognised by a building services professional organisation. You’ll hold Member status at IWFM Level 4/5 (RICS FM Pathway or MRICS, with a preference if already held). With a proven track record of successful supplier relationships and facilities management, you’ll deliver sustainable and effective outcomes for Dstl.

We’re committed to building a culture that’s inclusive, and as diverse as our work. For these roles, we’d particularly encourage applications from female and BAME candidates, who are currently underrepresented in our workforce.

Closing date: 9th January 2022
