A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint a senior Estates and Facilities professional, will have managerial and technical responsibility for delivery of estates operations in a complex healthcare setting.

Main Responsibilities:
- Hold operational managerial, professional and technical responsibility for delivery of estates maintenance, fire and security services to the Trust; deputises for the Director of Estates and has overall responsibility for their service areas in the Director’s absence;
- This may include management of service provision to external organisations via Service Level Agreements;
- Ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness of the service, which will be strongly customer-focused and will meet set performance targets;
- Hold full responsibility for establishing systems to: properly manage and maintain the Trust estate, undertake strategic planning to achieve implementation of change in line with local and national policies and initiatives;
- Lead on policy and service development related to all aspects of estates maintenance and fire & security services, and is accountable for their implementation. Responsible for reviewing and updating existing policies & procedures as necessary;
- Contribute to changes in the Trust’s delivery of healthcare, where appropriate identifying and implementing innovative solutions to support the organisation’s strategic development;
- Budget management for all estate service areas, ensuring all Trust requirements are met including identification and achievement of financial targets.
A successful candidate will have:
- Educated to appropriate engineering degree level or equivalent, or higher level technical qualification. E.g. HNC/HND in electrical/mechanical engineering and a member of a recognised professional institute;
- Experience of operational estates management, knowledge of fire & security requirements for NHS Trusts;
- Experience in the management of staffing, resourcing and budget management and performance related issues;
- Hold a thorough understanding of the operating environment within NHS Trusts/Healthcare based organisations.
