Category Manager- Wholesaler- North London £45/60K (Grocery/ Alcohol)
Title: Category Buyer
Location: North London
Salary: £45/60,000 plus bonus
We are looking for a Category Manager in the wholesales/Cash&Carry world, my client is looking for a Category Manager, a great influencer who is innovative and commercially aware of the sector to come in and add value but also grow in the business
The Category Manager Role
To manage existing supplier relationships and identify new suppliers to support the wholesales/Cash&Carry teams in terms of reducing costs and ensuring excellent product quality on a continuous improvement basis.
- Support the Commercial Manager in delivery of agreed objectives in line with the procurement strategy.
- Assist in the preparation and development of Invitation to Tender (ITT), Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) tender documents
- Review and evaluate suppliers for input to electronic procurement system
- Assist with implementation and delivery of the procurement category strategy
- Generally responsible for sales optimization of the Grocery, Alcohol products, involved in management, pricing, marketing and inventory fields as well
The Perfect Candidate
- Degree level or equivalent; Member or student member of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply)
(IS A BIG BONUS)
- Buyer experience of Food & Beverage categories; Knowledge of the supply markets and an understanding of operations would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong negotiation abilities; Good IT skills to include wide experience of Microsoft Office; Excellent analytical skills.
